Hotai Motor is Taiwan's largest auto dealer, with a market share exceeding 34%. In recent years, the company has actively expanded its mobile and smart living services to build a lifestyle ecosystem. Hotai has integrated its transportation resources, including iRent, Yoxi, and Heyun Car Rental, as well as airport transfers, to continuously explore more diverse digital service scenarios.
In 2023, Hotai launched the “chicTrip App” to support its shift from car sales to a digital lifestyle platform. The app integrates trip planning, transport booking, and special offers, linking services like iRent, yoxi, and Hotai Leasing. Goons participated from the concept stage through research and workshops, and continues to refine the product, shaping new digital mobility experiences.
Travel sparks people’s imagination, but scattered information and too many tools often turn planning into pressure. Goons helped chicTrip design intuitive features such as itinerary planning, friend co-editing, and personalized travel booklets. In 2024, We iterate the product to focus on the needs of “before, during, and after travel” with AI features like “Trip Inspiration” and “One-Click Sort” to simplify routes. Transportation options were also seamlessly integrated, creating a smooth end-to-end digital travel experience.

To align different perspectives, Goons conducted stakeholder interviews and cross-department workshops early on, gathering insights from both management and execution teams to build a shared product vision.

Given the product’s complexity, Hotai and Goons adopted an agile workflow with shared boards, sprints, and weekly design deliveries, enabling the first version to be designed, built, and tested within six months.

After its launch, the chicTrip App grew from a travel planner into an integrated mobility platform. Beyond ongoing feature development, the team needed to balance marketing goals with user feedback, continually refining product strategy and structure. We supported this by reprioritizing features along the user journey, validating concepts through interviews, and introducing data feedback and co-creation mechanisms to make design decisions more flexible and aligned with real user needs.
